During landing training at Shannon, power was reduced a bit too soon causing a hard landing on the mainwheels. Immediate inspection and another one two days later did not reveal damage but eight days later, minor wrinkling aft of the forward freight door was found to have developed. |

Engine no.3 had a turbine failure while climbing through 6500 feet. |
7-8 September 1971 |
Operated BA024 from Nairobi via Zurich to London. |

Ownership transferred to British Airways. |

Ferried to Prestwick for storage. |

1. After the merger, G-ASGK also received the British Airways colours.
2. Chris Sanders travelled from London to Blantyre via Larnaca and Dar-es-Salaam, on G-ASGK on 16/17 October 1980.
3. G-ASGK at Blantyre. A few weeks later Chris would travel back on this same VC10, on one of the last commercial services for this Super VC10.

1. By September 1982, G-ASGK/ZD239 had spent a more than a year at Abingdon and was looking a bit disheveled.
2. The combined front fuselage of ZD239 with the remains of ZD233, creating a Super-Super VC10 at Manston.
